Leo VI the Wise, (886-912), silver milliaresion, Constantinople mint, issued 886-908, (2.828 grams), obv. five lines of legend, within a triple circle of dots, +LEWN/ ENXWEV/ SEbHS bASI/ LEVSRW/ MAIWN, rev. cross potent on base with three steps, around IhSUS XRI STUS hICA, (S.1726 [£100 VF], BMC 4-5, DOC 3, R.1870). Slightly irregular shaped flan, otherwise good very fine and scarce.
