Italy, Lucania, Thurium (Thourioi), (350 -300 B.C.), silver stater, (7.854 grams), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with figure of Scylla, shield before, rev. bull butting to right, **QOUR[IWN] above, **SW* below, IE behind, two dolphins facing each other in dotted and lined exergue, (cf.S.447; SNG ANS 1067-8 [Pl.29]). Slightly off centred obverse, otherwise toned, some original mint bloom, extremely fine and rare variant.
