Ex Dr. Alan Nicholson Collection, Sale 49 (lot 1510). This, The Australian and European Bank (1874-1879), used the English firm of Bradbury Wilkinson & Co, for the design and production of its notes, that are similar to the Bank of Victoria, City of Melbourne Bank, the National Bank of Australia and especially the Federal Bank of Australia. Those issues are all similar to the notes from this bank. However, they also had proofs prepared by a local producer Sands & McDougall of Melbourne, for which only two are known.
