Ex Sydney Levine Collection. Westerbork was a refugee camp for Jews leaving Germany during the 1930's but following German occupation of Holland it was turned into a transit concentration camp holding prisoners awaiting transportation to death camps in Poland. In the late 1960's a small hoard of about 300 complete sets were found in the possession of a former inmate and have entered the market and it is believed included these notes in this sale.
