Commodus, (A.D. 177-192), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 183-184, (20.62 grams), obv. laureate head of Commodus to right, around M COMMODVS ANT ONINVS AVG PIVS, rev. around [TR P IMP VIII IMP VI COS] IIII P P, S C across field, Roma seated to left on shield, holding Victory and spear, (S.5823, RIC 410, C.889, BMC 511*). Dark brown patina, short on flan, good very fine/good fine and scarce.
