Hadrian, (A.D. 117-138), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued 133, (24.29 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Hadrian, around HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, rev. around FELIC[ITAS] AVG, S C across, Felicitas standing to left, holding branch and cornucopiae, wheel at feet, (S.3595, RIC 749, BMC 1492, C.609). Dark brown patina, some green oxidation near edge and edge of obverse, otherwise very fine and scarce.

Ex Manfed Wilschke, January 1991. The wheel, an usual attribute for Felicitas, refers to Hadrian's departure for the east where the 'Bar Cochba' war was raging in Palestine.
