Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.022 grams), Sardes mint, issued c.323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, torch to left, to right **[A]LEXAN[DROU]*, A under throne, (cf.S.6730, Price 2637, BMC 2637a-c, M.31, SNG Cop.878). Off centred obverse, very fine.
