Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.448 grams), Amphipolis mint, issued c.323-320 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **BASILEWS* and Macedonian helmet to left, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6713, Price 113, BMC 113a-i, M.224, SNG Cop. 682, Demanhur Hoard Nos. 1251-1343, Troxell Group H2). Very fine or better.
