Group of Five: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899 - four bars - Relief of Kimberley; Paarderberg; Driefontein; Transvaal; King's South Africa Medal 1902 - two bars - South Africa 1901; South Africa 1902; 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 with M.I.D. (ANZAC Provost Corps A.I.F.). 3904 Pte M.Adams 6/Drgn Gd on first medal and second medals, 102 Pte M.Adams 3/LH Regt A.I.F. on third, fourth and fifth medals (as Sjt on fourth and fifth medals). First medal officially engraved, other medals impressed. Very fine.

His work has been conspicuous throughout the period, especially during the time the Division was at the Somme, where he showed exceptional ability in handling 'Battle Stragglers' and other work in connection with trench warfare, more particularly during the advance on Bapaume and beyond in March 1917. His arrangements for entering the village taken by the Infantry during the advance east of Bapaume were very thorough. He personally supervised these arrangements'. Together with W.W.I. service records, Certificates of Discharge, photographs.
