Indian Distinguished Service Medal (GVIR) (5969 A-Seaman Mohamed Khan. R I N); 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; British War Medal 1939-45 (Collectors Item); India Service Medal 1939-45. Indian Distinguished Service Medal named, impressed, others unnamed. Slight edge knock on first medal, generally nearly very fine.

IDSM: London Gazette 2 February 1943. 'For great bravery when HMIS Bengal with the Motor Vessel Ondina, engaged two heavily armed Japanese raiders in the Indian Ocean and in a fine action against heavy odds destroyed one raider and drove off the other.'

Together with copies of extensive official records which include action reports compiled from eyewitness accounts, signals, correspondence, press releases and report summaries; photographs of HMIS Bengal; extracts from a number of books including the official war history published on the incident; copies of relevant London Gazette, including one with the despatch from the Commander-in-Chief, Eastern Fleet; and a copy of a newspaper cutting.
