MBE: London Gazette 13 June 1959. 'On the occasion of the Celebration of Her Majesty's Birthday.'

MM: London Gazette 10 February 1944. 'In recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Italy. During the actions fought South West of TERMOLI on the 4th and 5th October 1943, this N.C.O. commanded a Mortar Detachment in the area of Battalion Headquarters. The area was subjected to frequent heavy and accurate Artillery and Mortar fire, it was also attacked on two occasions by enemy infantry and tanks. His detachment remained in action throughout, although at one time his position was fully exposed to enemy infantry at not more than 100x range. Later when the enemy outflanked the position and began to fire into it from the rear, withdrawal was ordered. This N.C.O. brought his gun and detachment out in good order. His steadiness and coolness in action under very trying circumstances was outstanding and the maintenance of his Mortar in action contributed largely to the successful defence of the area for greater part of the morning.'

Together with MBE Warrant; copy of recommendation for the award of the Military Medal; copies of relevant London Gazette entries; two photographs of recipient in uniform, photographs of his house and his grave; and obituary.
