Officer of the Order of the British Empire (MBE); Distinguished Conduct Medal (GVIR) (5433001 W.O. Cl.1. A.Hill. D.C.L.); 1939-45 Star; Burma Star; Defence Medal; British War Medal 1939-45 (MID); Coronation Medal 1937; Coronation Medal 1953. Distinguished Conduct Medal named, impressed, others unnamed. Very fine.
MBE: London Gazette 13 June 1964. 'On the occasion of the Celebration of Her Majesty's Birthday.'
DCM: London Gazette 11 July 1940. 'For gallantry and distinguished service in connection with recent operations.'
MID: London Gazette 19 July 1945. 'In recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Burma.'

Together with extracts from the regimental history describing the action on 21 May 1940 at the River Escaut for which the recipient was awarded an immediate Distinguished Conduct Medal; extracts from the Regimental War Chronicle which includes a photograph of the recipient and his personal narrative of their withdrawal to Dunkirk and evacuation to Margate in HMS Kingfisher.
