Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE); Military Cross (1943); India General Service Medal 1908 - one bar - North West Frontier 1935 (Lieut. J.Grose R.A.): 1939-45 Star; Africa Star (1st Army); France and Germany Star; Defence Medal; British War Medal 1939-45; Coronation Medal 1953. India General Service Medal named, impressed, others unnamed. Very fine.

OBE: London Gazette 5 June 1952. 'On the occasion of the Celebration of Her Majesty's Birthday.'

MC: London Gazette 11 February 1943. 'In recognition of gallantry and distinguished service in North Africa. This officer, whilst commanding 'C' Battery 12 R.H.A. South of CHOUIGUI on 1 December 1942 maintained his Battery in action against heavy tank, infantry and air attack. Although wounded, he continued to command his Battery and on receipt of orders to withdraw, successfully extricated all his guns and covered the withdrawal of our own forward troops, continuing to direct very effective fire and refusing to be evacuated until he collapsed.'
