Aethelred II, (978-1016), penny, long cross type, issued 997-1003, obv. bare headed bust left, around AEDELRED REX ANGLO, rev. long cross voided, around LEO FRIC MqO CAENT (Leofric of Canterbury), (S.1151, N.774, Br. 5, BMC IVa). Some pecking on the reverse, otherwise very fine.
