Diocletian, (A.D. 284-305), AE folles, Treveri mint, issued A.D. 296-7, (9.314 grams), obv. laureate head of Diocletian to right, around IMP DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG, rev. around GENIO POPV LI ROMANI, Genius standing to left, holding patera and cornucopiae, B **G* across field, (cf.S.3533, RIC 170a); another similar London mint, issued 305-7, (8.708 grams), obv. Diocletian to right laureate in imperial mantle, rev. Providentia extending hand to Quies, (S.3542, RIC 77a); Maximianus, (306-308 second reign) Lugdunum mint (5.516 grams), issued 308, obv. bust cuirassed to right, rev. as first coin above, with altar to left, PLC in exergue, CI to left, H/S to right, (S.3647, RIC 290). First attractive tone, two minor edge splits, nearly extremely fine (illust.), second and third with green oxidation, very fine. (3)
