Palestine, Judaea, John Hyrcanus I (Yehohanan), (134-104 B.C.), copper prutah, (2.522 grams), obv. legend in Hebrew four lines (Yehohanan the High Priest and the Council of the Jews) with wreath, rev. double cornucopiae adorned with ribbons, pomegranate between, (S. 6098, H.457, AJC I, Group N); Mattathias Antigonus, (40-37 B.C.), copper prutah (2.044 grams), obv. in Hebrew in two lines (Mattatayah), rev. double cornucopiae with ribbons, barley ear between, (S.6105, H.483, AJC I, Group Y). First coin very fine, reverse slightly off centred, but very clear ethnic, second coin off centred obverse and rare. (2)
