Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.006 grams), Sidon mint, issued 309-308 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, A over M in left field, **SI* under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 3520, BMC -, M.1402, Newell Sidon 65). Off centred reverse, very fine and scarce.
