Sicily, Leontini, (c.425 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.540 grams), obv. laureate head of Apollo to right, dotted border, rev. head of lion to right, around four barley grains, around LE O N T IN ON, (cf.S.833, SNG ANS 244 [Pl.9, Same obverse die], Boehringer [Essays Price] No.47 [Pl.12 Same Dies], Ars Classica Sale XV (1930) [lot 294 [Same Dies]). Smoothed, otherwise very fine and a very rare.
