Domitian, (A.D. 81-96), AE sestertius, issue struck at Rome in A.D.88-89, (19.24 grams), obv. IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XVI CENS PER PP, head laureate to right, rev. IOVI [VICTORI] around, S C in exergue, Jupiter seated to left, holding Victory and sceptre, (cf.S.2766, RIC 401, C.315). Nearly very fine/very good and rare.

Ex Charles E. Weber Collection. Jupiter the Victorious sitting with the image of Victory in his right hand, is regarded as the conqueror of all things. In this example Domitian designates to himself the form and attributes of Jupiter Victor.
