Syria, Kingdom of, Antiochus I, (280-261 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.072 grams), Seleucia on Tigris mint, issued 267-261 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus I to right, rev. Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow, on right, **BASILEWS and to left **ANTIOXOU, to left and right monograms, (cf.S.6866, SC 379.3a, Newell ESM 149, Houghton 950, SNG Spaer 289). Very high relief, choice metal, extremely fine or better and very rare in this condition.
