Thrace, Kingdom of, Lysimachus, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.272 grams), Ainos mint, issued c. 280 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, HI monogram to left, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMAXOU*, (cf.S.6814, Thompson -, Weber 2727 [same dies], Pozzi 1172, SNG Delepierre 783 [same dies]). A beautiful golden grey tone with a strong portrait, nearly full flan, extremely fine and very rare.
