Pair:- British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal; Capt C.L. Brown R.A.F. Impressed. Very fine.
He was born Sydney, NSW in 1892. GHe went to the UK in 1916 and enlisted in the RN as a technical oficer. He subsequently served with the Grand Fleet and at Scapa Flow. He later transferred to the R.N.A.S. and underwent pilot training at Joyce Green and at Vendome in the south of France. He was poted to No.2 Sqn, 63 Wing at Mudros. Squadron aircraft included Sopwith bi- and triplanes, DHs, Short seaplanes, and Blackburn Babies. Captain (later Sir) Keith Smith was a member of the same squadron at this time. On the formation of the R.A.F. in 1918 he was commissioned Lieut, R.A.F. (commission umbered 13). At war's end he was discharged as an A/Captain and returned to Australia. He became a master builder and was living in retirement at Avalon, NSW in 1969.
