Syria, Kingdom of Antiochus III, (223-187 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.494 grams), Antioch mint, SC Series 3 (204-197 B.C.), (Newell 208-200 B.C.), obv. head of Antiochus III to right, with diademed hanging loosely, fillet border, rev. Apollo seated to left, on omphalos, **BASILEWS ANTI OCOU* to right and left, monogram U/P upper left, (cf.S.6934, SC 1044.1, Newell WSM 1089, SNG Berry 1358 [same obverse die], Hunter 18, Le Rider obverse die A1 [p.132, 18 examples noted of type all from same obverse die]). Well centred, extremely fine and rare.
