Thrace, Byzantion, (c.240-220 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (12.384 grams), obv. veiled head of Demeter to right, wreathed in corn, rev. Poseidon seated to right, on rocks, holding aplustre and trident, to right, monogram before **UPU*, and behind of **SI*, in exergue **EPI SFODR[IA]*, (cf.S.1587 [£900], SNG BMC Black Sea 61). Fair - very good, heavily corroded with some oxidation attached, rare.
