Italy, Campania, Neapolis (Naples), (c.395-385 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, (7.004 grams), obv. head of female (nymph) to left, with diadem, rev. man-headed bull to left, Nike above flying to left, in exergue **[N]EOPOLIT[HS]*, double exergue line, (cf.S.299 [£225], Rutter Period IV, Group 20, No.180 [obv. die 113, rev. die 163], SNG ANS 288 [same dies]). Nearly fine and rare.

Most examples of this period that come from this mint are worn coins. Two examples are known from this die combination all in public collections.
