THRACE, Abdera, (411/410-386/385 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (12.20 grams), obv. Griffin springing to left of base with both forelegs raised, ABDH above, rev. PROMHWIDHS around on four sides, dolphin to left downwards, all within incuse square, (cf.S.1544, cf.May [Coinage of Abdera] 343 same magistrate, but very different type, Plate XVII). Good very fine and excessively rare and an unpublished type.
