ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (272-235 B.C.), silver stater, (6.50 grams), obv. helmeted warrior in close fitting thorax and holding short javelin and shield on horse galloping to right, below of flan **APISTOK, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, wearing chalmys and holding a trident over shoulder, with Nike holding wreath flying on left to right, **TAPAS on right, rudder below, (cf.S.375, Vl.899, SNG ANS 1219). Very fine.
