Cyprus, Henry I, (1218-1253), electrum bezant, scyphate fabric, issued late in reign after 1232, (3.840 grams), obv. Christ wearing nimbus, IC XC across, rev. king standing facing wears crown, holding long cross and globus cruciger with double cross, o between garments lower right, around HENRICVS REX CYPRI, (MPS No.16 [p.273 and US$1800 EF], Sch. Pl.Vi, 6; Metcalf Ash. cf.No.636, type 3b [p.184-5 and illustration for variety]). Extremely fine and rare.
