Thrace, Maroneia, (c.189 - 145 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.376 grams), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Dionysos naked standing to left, holding grapes and two narthex wands, to right **[D]IONUSOU*, to left **SWTHROS, below **MAPWNITWN, monograms to left and right below, (cf.S.1635, Schonert-Geiss 1227 [similar monograms, different dies], cf.Hunter 20). Large flan, well centred of good style for these pieces, very fine and very rare only known for one example for this monogram group.
