Constantine IV, (668-685), solidus, Constantinople mint, Class III, issued 681-685, (4.264 grams), obv. helmeted three-quarter cuirassed bust to right, with frontal crest and plume, holding spear and shield, P CONS TANUSPPA around, rev. Cross potent on base and three steps, Officina **D*, around VICTORA AVGU **D*, CONOB in exergue, (S.1157 [£400 EF], DOC (12ba), T.-, BMC -). Weakly struck on parts of the legend, otherwise extremely fine, a very rare variant unlisted for officina, with some mint bloom.
