Julia Domna, wife of Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-217), gold aureus, issued 198, Rome mint, (7.440 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Julia Domna, around IVLIA AVGVSTA, rev. Cybele holding branch and resting seated to left, enthroned on car drawn by four lions, around MATER AVGG, (S.6560, RIC 562 [Septimius], C.116, BMC 163). Extremely fine about as struck and very rare.
