Group of Five: Military Cross and bar (GVR); 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal (MID); Colonial Auxillary Forces Officers Decoration (GVR). First medal inscribed 'Captain I.P.Stewart 22nd A.Infy. Gallipoli Novr.29th 1915', Ypres Oct 4th 1917 on bar, 2nd Lieut I.P.Stewart 22/Bn A.I.F. on second medal, Captain I.P.Stewart A.I.F. on third and fourth medals, Major I.P.Stewart M.C. 22nd Bn on last medal. First and last medals engraved, others impressed. Very fine.
M.C.: 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in supervising the laying out of the jumping off tape, and the forming up of the assaulting waves. In company with one N.C.O. he found himself in a position which had not been completely mopped up. He dealt with the snipers with his revolver, and brought back thirty prisoners and three machine guns.' With some research.
