Captain A.E.Reed 21/Bn A.I.F. on second medal, Major A.E.Reed A.I.F. on third and fourth medals, VX52050 A.E.Reed on fifth, sixth and seventh medals, Major A.E.Reed D.S.O. Unattached List on last medal. First medal unnamed, last medal engraved, others impressed. Very fine.

After winning his objective, he crawled out into 'No Man's Land' reconnoitered the ground and pushed his line forward again. Next day he personally directed the mopping up of an enemy post, and under close range machine gun fire supervised the consolidation of newly won posts. He set a fine example to his command.'
