Bactria, Kingdom of, Eucratides I, (170-145 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.950 grams), obv. pith helmeted head of Eucratides to right with dotted border ornamented with bull's horn and ear, rev. the Dioskouroi on horseback prancing to right, each holding spear and palm, to left a monogram of HA, in exergue **EUKRATIDOU*, around above **BASILEWS MEGALOU, (cf.S.7570. Mitchiner 1.177f, Qunduz Hoard 146-151 for type, Bopearachchi Series 6W, cf.No.40 [symbol on right] cf.SNG ANS 469-471 [symbol on right]). Nearly as struck, extremely fine/nearly extremely fine, in very high relief, with light golden tone, a very rare variant with unusual placement of symbol.
