Parthia, Kingdom of, Phraates II, (138-127 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.944 grams), Seleucia mint, obv. short bearded bust to right in diadem, filleted border, rev. bearded male deity enthroned to left, holding Nike in right hand, cornucopiae in left, to right, **BASILEWS MEGALOU* to left **AR SAKOU NIKHFOROU*, two monograms in exergue, (S.7347 [£2000], Sellwood 17.1 [£3500], BMC - [see p.16], Shore -). Some obverse and reverse porosity, otherwise good fine/very fine and extremely rare.
Known mostly from the hoard found several years ago that contained about 25 examples.
