Syria, Kingdom of, Demetrius II, (145-140 B.C. first reign), silver tetradrachm, (15.704 grams), Seleucia on Tigris mint, obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within fillet border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, in exergue monogram HWO. to right **BASILEWS DHMHTRIOU*, to left **FILADELFOU [N]IKATORO[S]*, (S.7053, SNG Spaer (Israel I) 1753 [Pl.113], ACNAC Houghton 1013). Cleaned, otherwise good fine/ fine and scarce.
