Sicily, Syracuse, (c.485-479 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.944 grams), obv. slow quadriga driven to right by male charioteer, Nike flying right crowning horses, rev. traces of **SUPAKOSIO N around to right, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, hair waved and turned up behind under diadem of beads, four dolphins around, (cf.S.913, Boehringer 255 var. (obv.114/rev.175 these dies). Attractive evenly toned, fine and a rare combination of dies, previously unpublished.
