Lesbos, Mytilene, c.450-330 B.C., electrum hekte (2.520 grams), Bodenstedt dates 370 B.C., obv. head of Hermes wearing petasos to right, rev. panther walking to right all within linear square, (cf.S.4252 [£600]; Bodenstedt 83g [same dies as obv. g/ rev. n], Boston 1740 [same dies], SNG von Post 201 [same obverse dies], SNG Cop. 313, BMC 68). Attractive light tone, nearly extremely fine and rare.

Ex Spink & Son with ticket marked œ680. Bodenstedt notes 36 examples of this type from 11 obverse and 12 reverse dies. Most examples known are in published collections. Three examples are known from this die combination.
