PACIFIC ISLANDS (OCEANIA), New Guinea, Map of New Guinea, Bougainville and Cape York Australia, hand painted on a Trocus shell 85 x 80mm, 220 grams, The equater is shown at the top with longitude 150 East drawn approximately through the centre of New Guinea. Map is shown divided into German, Dutch and British territories, thus privately produced prior to 1914. A fascinating item. Very fine.
