Palestine, Judaea, King Agrippa I, (A.D. 37 - 44), copper prutah, (3.160 grams), obv. umbrella or canopy, around BACI**LE*]WC A**GRIPA*, rev. three ears of barley growing between leaves, L [S] (year 6 = A.D. 42-3), (S.5567, H.553, AJC II, No.11 [p.553], Meshorer 88). Attractive dirt patination, full flan, good very fine.

Ex CNG Sale XXIV December 9, 1992 (lot 647 part). This is apparently the sole coinage of Agrippa I that was struck for use in those territories largely populated by Jews. Archaeological evidence confirms this from the finds of these coins.
