United States, bronze medal 65mm by Moritz Furst, 1815, Major General Andrew Jackson, as a Resolution of Congress February 27, 1815 commemorating the Battle of New Orleans January 8, 1815, obv. bust of General Jacksonm, rev. winged Victory writing at the dictation of Peace Orleans, (Julian MI-15 [p.127], Loubat No.46, Pl. XLVII, p.238-244). As struck, nearly uncirculated and cased.

This medal was first struck from these dies in 1821 or 1822. Barber reports in 1885 these dies were still in use by the medal department of the United States mint. This example is an issue of the late 19th century.
