Stephen, (1135-1154), silver halfpenny (cut penny), cross voided and mullets type, issued c.1145-1150, BMC ii, cf.Mack 61e, uncertain mint, obv. around [+STIE]FNE; rev. +RODBER[T:ON:.....], (Rodbert of London?), (S.1280, N.878). Good very fine and very rare.
Ex William J. Conte Collection and Wicklewood hoard, Christie's May 15, 1990 (lot 73 part). The moneyer also is known for Canterbury, Castle Rising, Hastings, Thetford as well as London.
