Aethelred II, (978-1016), silver penny, CRVX type, Canterbury mint, issued c.991-997, obv. bare-headed bust to left, sceptre before, rev. short cross voided with CRVX in angles, EADPOLD M-O CAENT (Eadwold of Canterbury), (S.1148, N.770, BMC iiia, No.21). Round, toned, nearly extremely fine.
