Description

Augustus as Octavian, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, uncertain Italian mint (probably Brundisium, possibly Rome), issued 32-29 B.C. (3.906 grams), obv. Octavian head bare to right, in dotted circle, rev. CAESAR on left downwards and DIVI F on right upwards, Pax standing to left draped, holding olive branch in left hand and cornucopiae in right hand, (S.1551, RIC 252, C.69, BMC 605). Slightly off centred, attractive dark tone, nearly extremely fine and very rare.
