Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.074 grams), `Amphipolis' mint, issued 336-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, herm to left in left field, to right **ALEXAN[DROU], (cf.S.6713, Price 78, BMC 78a-f, M.-, Hyla Troxell (Num. Studies ANS 21) Group E, Series E2). Crystalization chip broken of edge, obverse porosity, grey tone, good fine/very fine.
