Vespasian (A.D. 69-79), denarius, Rome mint, issued 73, obv. laureate head to right, rev. VICTORIA AVGVSTI around, Victory advancing to right, holding palm and placing wreath on a standard set in ground, (RIC 618, S.--). Dark in places and a small flan, portrait verey fine, otherise good fine and scarce.
This issue also commemorates the peace following the Jewish War of A.D.66-70 and attributes that success to Vespasian the Augustus.
