Description
Heraclius, (A.D. 610-641), Constantinople mint, three quarter follis, obv. Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine standing facing, rev. Lambda, CON in exergue, date to r., year 20 = 629, Officinae A, (S.812, D.O.117). Cleaned, evidence of overstriking, otherwise very fine and rare.
The issue was extensively overstruck on folles coins of Heraclius own reign. This issue is clearly on a Sear 808 with three emperors on the obverse.
