One of the greatest collections of world coins ever sold and included many fabulous rarities. King Farouk was a very active collector who acquired coins from all over the world and with his fall from power the new Republic of Egypt seized his coins and other collections and sold them at public auction. Many interesting memoirs have been written about this sale including those by several American collectors and dealers who attended the sale. Both sale catalogues includes the gold trade dollar of 1901 (ex Farouk lot 908) and Hong Kong Sale as (lot 139). That coin is included elsewhere in our sale (lot......).
