Cappadocia, Caesarea, Claudius (A.D.41-54), silver didrachm, (7.37 grams), obv. laureate head to l., rev. DE BR[IT]ANNI[S], Claudius in triumphal quadriga to r., holding eagle tipped sceptre, (Syd.55, S.469). Weak in places, portrait good fine, otherwise fine and rare.
ex D. Foulger collection. An important piece struck to commemorate the beginning of the Roman conquest of Britain in A.D. 43.
