Sultans of Delhi, Farid-ud-din Sher Shah Suri, (945-952 A.H., 1538-1545 A.D.), silver rupee, (11.28 grams), no mint name, dated 949, obv. three lines, (the Kalina), around (the four successors), rev. five lines (Sher Shah Sultan, May God Perpetuate his dominion and sovereignty, 949..); (Rajgor 1692, Wright 1083, cf.Hull 538, BMC 524). Good very fine and very scarce.
Ex Robert Senior list 7, No.1854. Wright believes this issue was struck in Bengal.
